Why choose Coops and Roots

Coops and Roots LLC was founded in in 2017 by Kelsie Crane. Kelsie has been assisting and spearheading quality control around the garden, barn, and chicken coop since her youth. With exceptional training experience from some local chicken experts, she decided to take her passion and knowledge and create a service for our neighborhood backyard chicken flocks (as well as gardens and other animals as needed).

Tara took over the business in 2023 and Kelsie graciously took her under her wing (no pun intended) and taught her everything she needed to know to continue the quality services, exceptional efficiency and highest level of professionalism that Coops and Roots is known for.

Jill joined the team when Tara took over the business and was offered the company in December of 2023 - a dream come true! Jill has dedicated her spare time to providing treatment to flocks, implementing preventative measures against common health ailments, pests and parasites, and helping flock owners rectify improper enclosures. Jill had her flock of hens for 6 years, which she had to unfortunately re-home in 2025 when she moved. Jill still has a bountiful and healing garden, her dog and cat.
